Dolce handknits download

I am presently working on the highest priority item on my knitting bucket list. I am about half way through knitting a quivit lace scarf. Last summer I had the opportunity to visit a musk oxen farm and procured some of their lovely yarn. I am having so much fun. The next item on the bucket list is to knit a lace silk or silk blend shawl.

My favorite yarn weight is sock weight so I am right in my element. I know I will return to knitting that sock yarn into lacy and patterned socks as they are my go to for those times I need a new project. All of the patterns were beautiful. I would gladly wear any of them…well, maybe a little more length on a couple of them. If I knitted these days I would be inspired by these sweater patterns ….

Charleston, the shrug is my choice. I might even knit one sweater for me. A fabulously simple garter stitch jacket with loads of style. This is a great first sweater project and it knits up fast. Last summer I spent a couple of weeks in the mountains of North Carolina learning to weave.

Though it was blazingly hot during the day, the mornings were still cool and this was the cardigan I wished for as I walked to class each morning. Avalon is the pretty way to do casual. Worked in-the-round to the armholes with a simple ribbon at the Empire waist.

Brighton is worked in one piece from the bottom up with the set-in sleeves worked separately. The change in gauge and needle size and slight shaping in the bodice creates the flattering A-line shape. The color-blocked ribbing on this sporty little dress will work magic for your figure. Feminine without being fussy, this is a lovely topper for spring dresses or to dress up jeans.

Flower Market Gloves. Helena is a great knit for transitioning from season to season. Helena is worked in pieces form the bottom up. Jackson is all about casual comfort. The wide placket buttons to keep out the chill. The stand up collar meets more closely in the center than apparent in photo. I first made a pair for myself almost a 10 years ago and only wrote the sparest of notes. Madison started with the idea of smocking, but instead of a true smocked stitch I found this alternating rib with a twisted stitch that is so easy to work and looks very similar to smocking.

I tend to like my lace simple and worked on worsted or even bulky weight yarns. No posts found. There is also a section on yarn and size considerations, along with techniques, abbreviations, useful information and resources. The book is divided up by seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. My favorite winter knits are the Kilimanjaro pullover lace sweater knit with heavy worsted yarn.

The yarn used is a mixture of alpaca, wool, and silk. I also like the Covent Garden cardigan in two lovely shades of gray. This is knit with a yarn comprised of wool, lama and bamboo. My summer favorite is the Captiva summer tank knit in white out of a nice cotton yarn.

For fall, I'd choose the Sienna cardigan in a lovely dark brown. It is knit in a yarn comprised of alpaca and wool. There are several patterns in this book that are not for me but might well appeal to a younger set. However, there are enough patterns that I like to make the purchase of this book worthwhile. I recommend it. Kim Dolce Kim Dolce has been an avid knitter for 20 years and has been designing knitwear professionally for nearly a decade.
